Setting up Amazon S3

We require an Amazon S3 account in order to be able to upload content into Origami Engine. The S3 account is registered and owned by you, so the content you create and upload never resides in our system. You always control and own your content.

Setup when creating a new Amazon S3 Account

These steps will help you through the process of creating an Amazon S3 account and connecting it to Origami Engine. Once it’s connected, there are no further steps.

This is a requirement in order to publish anything on Origami Engine.

Setup for existing Amazon S3 Account

If you have an existing Amazon AWS account, you will need to create your keys in a different manner. This requires some basic knowledge of computers and computer systems. Below outlines the steps to create a user and give that user permission to access S3. This process will isolate the Origami Engine S3 bucket from any other aspect of AWS.

Adding an Origami Engine User to an Existing S3 Account

Add your Amazon S3 Key to Origami Xchange Settings

Now that you have your Keys to login to Origami Xchange, select settings in the left navigation. There you add both Keys. Regardless of the 2 methods you use to get your keys, we only use these keys temporarily.

For security reasons, after you have entered your keys, we use the access to set up very limited access for Origami Engine to Amazon S3. We create an area (bucket) that Origami Engine has access to but we make sure that we have no access to any other part of your Amazon account.

After using the keys you provide, we create a new set of keys that only have access to the Origami Engine content. For your privacy and security, we do not keep or save the master keys you provide.

Origami Engine Access Keys

Once you have successfully connected Origami Engine to your Amazon S3 account, we create new keys that only have access to Origami Engine content. We share these keys with you. Please write them down and store them in a safe place.

Setting up iTunes

To be able to create Apps, In-App-Purchase and update content in your Apps, Origami Engine requires access to your Apple iTunes account. You can either enter your master iTunes username and password here or create a new user with admin access.

We store your iTunes credentials with industry standard AES 256 bit encryption and the password is never available to the user once entered.

This is a requirement in order to publish anything on Origami Engine.

Connecting iTunes Connect

This process connects Origami Engine with iTunes Connect. This way we can publish, manage and update iOS Apps that you create using Origami Engine. We have no access to Apps not created with Origami Engine, they are managed only by accessing iTunes Connect directly.
